The Founder

Nor Aine Jamaludin

“Graduated from a top ranked university, but chose to become a farmer?” But, that is not what Nor Aine has in mind. Her goal was to inspire the locals into choosing healthy and safe food sources. With the support and encouragement from her family and friends, Aine realizes her dreams and goals. Her efforts and time pays off, seeing the customers that chose vegetables from Aininaz Farm because of the non-pesticide product.

However, selling fresh vegetables was not her main intention venturing into agriculture. At the same time, she wants to guide hydroponic hobbyists to start producing their own food at home.

During her Bachelor of Science in Ecology Biodiversity, Nor Aine, unlike her classmates, finds working with plants interesting and fun. As she learns and discover wonders of Mother Nature, with the guidance from wonderful lecturers and staff of the Biological Science Department, Faculty of Science, Universiti Malaya,  the interest gradually turns into passion.

Spending most of her time at home during MCO, she realized that her mother’s hobby is actually a small step into sustainable farming even though it's only a lawn-sized. Seeing the potential of hydroponic farming, she pursue her mother's efforts and intentions to contribute for the society. Learning and experiencing first hand practicality in hydroponics management, giving her advantages.

Applying the knowledge and experience gained from her mother, Puan Normah, Nor Aine did a study on comparison of  hydroponic's vegetables planting and conventional planting. She realizes that  the usage of chemical pesticides in conventional farming is worrying, driving her to implement organic pest control in Aininaz Farm.

The Advisor

Puan Normah Binti Abdul Karim is considered the founder of Aininaz Farm. She started farming as a hobby just before the COVID-19 outbreak at the end of 2019. She was an English teacher who retired in June 2013. She is a mother of five, a wife, and a hydroponic advisor living in Kampung Dioh, Kuala Pilah, Negeri Sembilan. She has asthma and diabetes. She found that farming is a great way to get fresh air and exercise, as well as grow her own food. Her additional experience teaching farming in "Kemahiran Hidup" (Life Skills) was used in implementing hydroponics. She also received online coaching from hydroponic experts to enhance her skills and knowledge. She is passionate about helping others learn about hydroponics and is willing to share her knowledge and experience with those who are interested.

During the Movement Control Order (MCO) in 2020, she started her hydroponic farm extensively by using the proper hydroponic system and equipment. The harvests were given to neighbors and those in need.

She was awarded 1st runner up in "Kebun Komuniti" (Community Garden) in NS Fest 2022 at Nilai, Negeri Sembilan. She was encouraged by the officer from the agriculture department to expand her farm. Due to her age and health, she handed over the farm to her younger daughter, Nor Aine Binti Jamaluddin, who holds a Bachelor of Science in Ecology and Biodiversity.

Aininaz is a combination of the names of her five children: Aine, Ainna, Nazar, Nazreen, and Nazrul. They are the backbone of Aininaz Farm, providing strong moral and material support to their younger sister in building Aininaz Farm commercially. Aininaz Farm was officially handed over to Nor Aine Binti Jamaluddin in September 2022 with the following words from Abdul Karim Bin Rimpun (her late father):

“Ingat,Dalam Perniagaan Ada Ibadah, Dalam Jual Beli Harus Ada Sedekah”
